A January 14th Sahan Journal article shared several labor perspectives on the federal immigration crackdown, including Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation President (and Confluence executive committee member) Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou and Amalgamated Transit Union President David Stiggers.
Glaubitz Gabiou confirmed that “Workers in every industry are indiscriminately being arrested.” Stiggers told the story of a member of his union, originally from Somalia, who was detained for over a month and moved twice between different detention centers, only to be released on January 2nd with no explanation.
