Minnesota’s union movement includes more than 300,000 workers in a huge variety of jobs. Now jobseekers can visit the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation’s new virtual Hiring Hall to see the full breadth of union job opportunities available across the state, from registered nurse to arborist, from accounting technician to pull tab seller at Minnesota Wild home games.
Unionhiringhall.org/mn was developed with support from MLK Labor (Seattle, WA), which has used a similar approach to connect current and aspiring union members to job opportunities in Washington state. Always eager to support cross-regional learning and solidarity, Workers Confluence provided additional assistance in bringing resources together for this project.
Beyond the job listings, the Union Hiring Hall website provides resources for successful interviewing and resume writing, as well as information about the benefits of a union career. Besides providing a one-stop shop for jobseekers, aggregating so many union jobs in one place also gives a powerful sense of the wide reach of unions in Minnesota.
